Job Description
The Process Engineer will provide leadership, line and project management, in process development, and validation and control supporting safe, productive operation of multiple production facilities and processes of high performance and engineering plastics.
Key Responsibilities for Process Engineer:
- Promote safe work practices and demonstrate a zero tolerance for non-compliance.
- Stabilize, validate, and control existing processes in conjunction with local teams.
- Develop and implement system standards in process development, validation and control
- Work with equipment engineering team to identify, select, validate and install new equipment
- Manage new process and product development initiatives utilizing various engineering principles.
- Provide process engineering support to local manufacturing teams as needed
- Encourage innovation to enhance safety, efficiency and effectiveness
- Lead and support continuous improvement projects
Specialized Skills and Abilities for Process Engineer:
- Knowledge of MES systems, OEE concepts, and process validation methods
- Experience in a Lean environment and with successful Lean project implementations
- Able to travel - maybe 10% - to other locations.
Education and Experience for Process Engineer
- 4-year degree, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum of 7 years in process engineering in a manufacturing environment, including at least 2 years in supervision/management
- Very proficient with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen certifications a plus
- Mechanical/chemical testing methods and requirements
- Experience in the successful implementation of world-class manufacturing practices
